I’ve seen the ad run a few times here in the Southland, which is surprising because I don’t recall Nationwide being among the largest of the state’s auto insurers by volume. So either I watched national spots or the company is using the app as a means to better penetrate the California market.

It’s an effective ad to change the image of what otherwise might be considered a stodgy old insurer. I wouldn’t have considered Nationwide for insurance absent the ad. It also revives the old slogan “Nationwide is on your side.”
