I use the old PB primarily for word processing when I’m tired of sitting in front of the desktop Mac. I recently fried my 180 and moved my hard drive into a 170. It would be nice to load a few pieces of software on the tiny drive, but I have no idea where to get a cable with the weird connector that fits into the PB. Any ideas?
Thanks,

I’ve been using the Macintosh since 1987. No apologies.

Does the SCSI port you speak of look something like the one illustrated here?

If so, then you probably need the same thing I use with my PowerBook 5300c.  The adapter I have says “HDI SCSI/DOCK Adapter” on one side and the other has a switch to go between “SCSI” and “Dock” modes (dock puts your PowerBook in SCSI Disk Mode so it can be used as an external hard drive with another computer, assuming the model support SCSI Disk Mode.)

I’ve also seen a whole cable (rather than a small adapter) that converts between normal SCSI and the HDI 30 SCSI.  I know nothing of the company that runs the following page, but I found this online:

I’m guess that this is what you want.
