This is a non-scientific poll of our members to survey what iPhones are currently in use. If you don’t currently have an iPhone, please post a response as to why. Is it a carrier issue, a cost issue or an existing contract matter?  Or is it an issue you prefer an iPod touch rather than an iPhone as an all-in-one mobile communications solution?

I jumped from an original iPhone to a 3GS a month ago. I’m amazed at the speed and enhanced uses of the 3GS in comparison.

I’ve had my iPhone 3G (16GB) about a year and a half and I love it. I use it more than I ever expected.

Barring any extenuating circumstances, my next mobile device will be an iPhone, too. It will be interesting to see what hardware upgrades and carrier options are available when my contract ends this summer…

While I have the 3GS 32GB I have to say I miss my first gen phone. I feel like they were built so much better and an iPhone running edge has better battery life. I’ll be happy with a 4G 64GB with the aluminum back that is curved like the 3G and has the battery life using 3G that the original phone gets with edge. Oh and front facing camera (not really I think it is pointless).

While I never actually owned an original iPhone, I understand what you mean about how it’s built. It’s not as if my 3G is shoddy but the metal backing seems more solid by comparison.

But if the next iPhone (“4G”?) takes cues from the iPad’s design and construction, it should be a nice upgrade. The back of my iPad feels sturdy and doesn’t feel like it would flex at all with normal wear and tear.

I have the iPhone 3G, 16GB, which was a Christmas gift from the best sister EVAR. I love it. It went from something I wanted to indispensable within the first day. Now I’m looking forward to the next-gen iPhone this summer, as I plan to upgrade then.

I also use an original phone. One thing I have noticed is it seems my reception drops out randomly at times and comes back several seconds later. Don’t know if it’s the network around me or the reception in my phone. Other than that, still going strong.
