I will buy some AAPL around $170- $175 - will get there next week IMO. Earnings season will disappoint (not for Apple but for other companies), and I think we will fill the gap from 9/15 - 9/16.

I’m hearing/reading that earning will be better than expected, based largely on cost-cutting and efficiencies. But I’ll be buyer at 170-175 if we see it!

OTOH: I think AAPL will hit 190 before it hits 178.
But that is just me! I am an Apple-loonian.
Let’s see $5 up to $190, $7 down to $178. Here’s to hoping you’re right.

I am with you. I thought we would hit 180 and come back, then 185, then 190, now I think closer to 200 before we have the correction.
volume is rather light today, and the stock is very volatile.
i am intrigued by the announcement of new carriers in UK. I think Apple is using this to keep pressure on ATT to cont. high subside if they want to remain exclusive for 2 more years.

As I said earlier I think Mr. Softie is the perfect competitor for Apple. They are huge, dumb, prevent barriers to entry and allow Apple to build share under the radar while they live in complete denial. Imagine if the tables were turned and Apple was incompetent like Mr. Softie and Mr. Softie was brilliant like Apple, then I’d be worried. When I owned my running shop in Boston I had a similar situation where the big player had multiple stores and had horrible service but he was too big to see his flaws. I slowly built my business while he viewed me as a rounding error. Twelve years later I sold my business to him….
