Anyone have a recent web order number to share? Anything from late September - early October would be great to have as a quarter-closing order. Thanks!

Black Swan Counter: 9 (Banks need money, Jobs needs a break, Geithner has no plan, Cuomo’s grandstanding, .Gov needs a hobby, GS works for money, flash crash, is that bubbling crude?).

Those are great. Here’s what I’m working with for this quarter:

06/15/2009 09:00   46598
07/01/2009 02:17   46933
07/04/2009 15:51   46992
07/22/2009 07:46   63271
08/13/2009 10:57   63660
08/23/2009 00:00   64007
09/10/2009 00:00   64598
09/30/2009 00:00   64997

This implies quite a nice boost from SL preorders, and back to the normal pace by the music event.

Also, any orders between Jul4 and Jul22 would help determine when and by how much Apple messed with the sequence (currently estimating a 15.9M gap).

Thanks again!

Guess that 9th order helps narrow it a bit for you and take out some of the gap smile  Any orders between the 4th and 9th out there now?

I pre-ordered Snow Leopard online in Australia, I think on the first evening it was available.

Order Number:
W569929xx

Order Date:
25/08/2009

That helps?

(edit:  Sorry, on further thought and looking at old order numbers, it probably doesn’t help at all coming from the Australian store - disregard)

These contributions are awesome!

Even the one from Australia, it can’t hurt to start documenting a new sequence (I had a couple of numbers from that sequence from last year but I sadly discarded them).

Here’s all the data points I have so far (last two quarters) and my conclusion for the total number of online orders for Q4:

Date     Americas     Europe    Asia/Pacific
-----    --------    -------    ------------
03/30     45210.1    89154.6
04
/14     45454.5    89268.8
05
/05     45827.2
06
/15     46598.3
07
/01     46933.9
07
/04     46992.0
07
/09     63062.7
07
/22     63270.6
07
/27     63351.4
08
/06                90209.0
08
/13     63659.8
08
/20     63770.0
08
/22     63909.4
08
/24     64006.5    90353.9
08
/25                                56992.9
09
/09     64534.6
09
/09     64564.0
09
/10     64597.9
09
/11     64607.9    90809.0
09
/23     64874.1
09
/30     64996.6

Q4 Tot
.     2.07M   +  1.16M  =  3.23M online orders (US+EU

I get these totals by interpolating each sequence at the quarter ending dates and subtracting the beginning W# from the ending W# (and only this time subtracting 16M for the US).

Hope we can keep it going here for future quarters. Thanks!
