  If it does what I think it does, I might end up buying one for my mother-in-law. Her eyesight through macular degeneration and glaucoma is poor at best. She can read books and magazines, but it takes much longer than normal. If the device can magnify up to a reasonable rate and still be functional, be easy for her to use, it could well change her life.

  We would have got her a Kindle, but Amazon are not offering it in New Zealand.
