I found something that is fun: A political compass test.

I’m a bit on the authoritarian side but I can explain it: I’m lawful.
My political compass results are:

Economic Left/Right: 0.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.03

pcgraphpng.php?ec=0.00&soc=1.03

Take the test and post your results.

Black Swan Counter: 9 (Banks need money, Jobs needs a break, Geithner has no plan, Cuomo’s grandstanding, .Gov needs a hobby, GS works for money, flash crash, is that bubbling crude?).

For those who look, a flash allows one to see farther.

I, on the other hand, don’t trust authority and believe most laws are there to screw the citizenry, or are selectively applied.
pcgraphpng.php?ec=-2.75&soc;=-4.00

EDIT: Hey!!! That’s not my chart!!! I am more libertarian

Proud to be in such great company! (you too awcabot wink) Yes, I admit I’m a bit unruly. evil grin

And I’m apparently Ghandi, around a green -4,-4. No entirely happy with the left-right result. My eccentric views were completely off the presumed axis where I had to choose. The left-right axis questions usually looked to me like naive-demented axis questions, and I went for naive!

Pleased to see our labour (socialist) UK prime minister Gordon Brown has been professionally evaluated as a right wing authoritarian, the opposite of his professed constituency.

between deagol and sleepygeek - so a green box

I think this is somewhat simplistic and pigeon holing.  Im sure everyone here could find common ground beyond a desire for aapl to advance.

Yup, I agree: fun. Not surprised by the results. No other listed political figures (nor members of this board, so far) in my quadrant. Not really surprised by that either, I guess. Helps explain why I always feel like an outsider at parties. smile

Anybody notice that this test is designed to put elites in the center and marginalize all others as fringe?

That’s it? Looks like I need to find more august company… wink

The questions seemed to be fairly balanced, with enough repetition without overlap to smooth out any outliers. Disclaimer: I build and deploy surveys for a living. Well, part of my day job anyway…

Tony is clever enough to have paid for his basement project in two weeks of call writing and to be bluntly honest, Tan’s suggested bell curve didn’t occur to me. However, I discounted Tan’s suggestion after a pause since the majority who take the compass test will not fall in the middle.

That said, ask Tony how many 2x4 studs a Subaru can carry at once.  wink  lol

I was going to write that I was halfway between Ghandi and Friedman.  Then I noticed that I am close to where you are.  Next time you go to a party, look for me in the kitchen.

I am just below right of Gandhi . . .

Economic Left/Right: -5.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.64

I am happy with that.
