Do you think Vietnam can scale to service global consumption? I think India’s middle class is growing so rapidly that they may not want to make ‘stuff’ for us.

Remember, although China has over 1.4 Billion people, they flooded with world with AT MOST perhaps 25% of the Chinese in that export system/economy, even now, most of the people live in the interior, which hasn’t seen the changes that the coastal regions have experienced. Vietnam has about 85 million people now, labor is cheap, and our favorite company, Apple uses Foxconn of Taiwan, with Foxconn city in China as the prime assembly factory with 240,000 employees at ONE facility. Foxconn, in order to keep it lowest cost producer standing, is going to move to Vietnam where it has built another huge city/state/factory with 300,000 employees FOXCONN VIETNAM

India I believe will skip small electronics assembly, and go directly into heavy industy, high end products, and focus more on industrial than consumer production. Don’t forget, that everyone in India is given English if they are educated, giving them a huge advantage right out of the box in a globalized world economy where English is the language of commerce and diplomacy.

Although I can’t remember the exact numbers I was about 2 blocks to the right and about 1 block down which put me in the purple square.

I’m not going to do the quiz again in case I come out with wildly different answers. One thing I would note is the use of the word “country” could easily be confused with “government”. Depending on your interpretation, you could get different answers. For example, I love my country, but I despise the idiots that have formed my government.

You’re that close to the center you could end up being any colour if you re-test and have change your troll avatar. Perhaps you should just be you and be yellow.

Yes, I was surprised I was not further into the purple zone. I have readopted my yellow feathery attire.

Perhaps India will become the new (south)Korea then - ie the new Hyundai, Daewoo, Samsung, Doosan et al. Indians I think are culturally business savy and their participation in the global economy will have an ever increasing affect/defining influence on global financial markets.

And South East Asia will be the new assembly hub.

I just can’t help thinking that the Chinese are not in Africa just to extract resources. Something else is cooking.

India is now home to the worlds largest oil refinery in the world. Chevron partnered with Reliance to do a 6 billion expansion with 40% of production going to the US. India is taking huge steps to become relevant to the world economy. India is also home to the worlds largest “chop shop”. Large ships are taken there to be cut up and stripped. The environmental impact for this process is destroying the area. I do not think any company should be able to destroy the environment.
