iphoto vidoes imovie

I am trying to import some iphoto videos into imovie but I cant find them through imovie.

the videos are in my iphoto library, for I can see them mixed with my photos when I look at my events in iphoto.

However, in imovie I can only see the photos in my iphoto events folders not the videos.

I remember installing iphotos on the second of the internal hard drives in this mac pro, and so freeing up some space on the boot drive. Could that explain it?

But where are those video files that show up in events in iphoto and how can I get imovie to access them?
