External keyboard issues after update

    I use a MacBook Pro (2009) with an external USB keyboard (Microsoft). It’s worked fine for months. After installing the Trackpad update this morning, I suddenly started experiencing a problem: When I first start typing (say, after switching to an application or thinking for a bit or starting a new email or bringing up LaunchBar), the first letter that I type shows up in the middle of the word, like this: eybKoard.

    No, it’s not bad typing. It’s entirely consistent, at normal speed, and has never been a problem before. nAyone (there it is again) else experiencing this? I have tried turning bluetooth and and off, although I have no bluetooth devices connected. I don’t see any preferences to change. Any ideas?
