(Sigh.) I tried to get clever and copied and pasted the Chinese symbols for “Blood Bath”, which were way cool, but the web site wouldn’t accept them and replaced them with “???”. Another half-assed attempt at wit by a half-wit. Sorry about that.

What’s very interesting about the Chinese Apple online store prices is that the MacBook Air prices are very close to the equivalent US prices.
For example: The basic Air comes in at $1022, only $23 more than the US price of $999. This using the 6.69 exchange rate of today and accounting for the 17% Chinese VAT. Quite aggressive for Apple compared to the 5-10% higher relative prices in Europe. Further indication that Apple is going after the Chinese market very very aggressively.
And is there any doubt that China Telecom will have a CDMA iPhone to sell in a few months?
