  Some pretty rough numbers can be found here.  Probably too early to tell what total mobile handset shipments were for 2010 but in 2009 according to this site it was 1.13bn handsets shipped:

  Given 2009 we were in the depths of recession, I would imagine that number to be up in 2010.

  This was written in 2007.  We would have hit 1000 by 2012 if the market did not crash.

  But this is the plan that I am following.  I think we will hit $2000 a share by 2021.

  Thanks for the reminder. This was about the time I had to liquidate my AAPL for real life needs, but I remember the build-up and the excitement of iPhone lines around the USA and the sentiment on the board that a global financial crash was about to happen. “Backing up the truck” and all that. Fun times.  6x in ten years is probably conservative, but knowing that, an exciting prospect for long term planners.
