Now beginning to buy the dips. overreaction ?

    EDIT - Thanks Mace

I can just hear that familiar “beep….beep….beep….the dump truck makes when backing up.

S&P breaks 1280 just now. So maybe it’s not the “usual” dip. I’ve canceled my limit AAPL order. It’s too dangerous to catch the falling knife.

I’m staying all cash.  The chances for trouble over the weekend are greater than the chance for a rebound.

Just like NFLX shorts were roasted alive, AAPL shorts could be next

    Some thougts.

VIX is now up a whooping 19.57%. This shows fear is back. Fear is our friend, complacency not. If there is a resolution to the crisis in Egypt during the weekend (my guess is there should be one). We gap up Monday. Today the odds favor the downside.

AAPL at $336.24 down -2.03%, but off of lows. Nothing wrong with the stock, on the contrary, as the unknown was priced in and it was overbought and moving sideways before market was hit by the Egypt black swan.

No reason to panic. Dow 12,000 and SPX 1300 are not tops, nor resistance, just a line in the sand. This may be a good opportunity and will keep holding my AAPL trade position over the weekend. Will not be adding today, but there are many doing so on good names showing weakness.

    Be careful, though.

The uptrend line on the SPX is roughly 1285 and is now at 1279.94. A break intraday does not matter much as sentiment is panicky on the unknown. Let’s see what happens on the close. Would not read too much on today’s action. This may bring a better trading environment very soon.

And how is it that NFLX escaped the wrath of Khan today? Amazing!

I picked up F on the heels of the disappointment.

In hindsight, F was a bad idea.

    Easy come, easy go.  LOL

    Congrats to SLV.

placed a BTO order for some May 345 contracts at 19.00.  Came back and was surprised to see they triggered.  Hoping this Egypt issue has some steps taken to resolution over the weekend…..

Is Egypt that big of an issue? Such a small country..not news worthy IMO(maybe I’m a bit harsh)..

People swarming to military vehicules, protesters being shot, rumors of Jordan being next and live feed by CNN on a fixed cam.

Soon this will all be over like the N Korean bombing not long ago.

What has Aapl and all other good stock have to do with it?

This could well be a catalyst for a technical pullback, maybe when the resolution comes through we get a relief rally and a nice rebound. Caution but no reason for panic. Great opportunities will abound soon.

Egypt is an extremely important ally for the US and the worry is that the whole Middle East will go up in flames. And that means problems for Israel and problems with oil and al Quaeda for the US.

Me thinks this whole issue is just starting. Hope and options do not mix. I don’t like to catch a falling knife until it hits the floor, which is not until AAPL goes under 330. Long calls into February are generally not a good idea. If things get worse, we could be looking at a 320 floor instead. Sorry. I just think you jumped the gun. I hope for your sake I’m wrong next week. If I’m right, I will re-deploy my cash in a couple weeks after the correction. I don’t like to lose money.
