I’m going to add to my QCOM trade by PROBABLY purchasing some MARCH 65’s.  maybe 1/2 on the open and 1/2 a couple hours in.

After selling my Feb 60s the day after earnings, I reentered QCOM with a common purchase. I think this one has a ways to run…..

Yes sir..  I wanted to wait for 3 closes (at least) above that $60 level.  Yesterday seemed like a strong day, although I’m questioning whether I should of sold Feb’s or March’s.  I sold the former.  62.5/60’s for $110 each.  I’ll just let it ride out, unless it closes under $60 I suppose.

DMND = wow.

I was kinda worried at first, but Diamond Foods is apparently NOT the company that makes the best smokehouse almonds in a can in the entire world (that I know of so far):

Interesting to see what happened to OPEN today. I had a small bit of 47.5/42.5 puts on it, and figured they’d drop a ton in value after seeing the stock go up to about $55 AH. Thankfully for me, OPEN got hit with a downgrade, and I was able to close the position at near breakeven.

what day were they at 55 in the AH?  Was that last night?

wow is right.  Whoever bought those 10 FEB-10 30-strike option contracts (i’m assuming they were bought based on the fact that there is no bid price) @ $.06, is going to wake up tomorrow with $9000 if the stock flatlines from the current price and opens at $21.

I just opened a $2,000 TDAmeritrade account for my girlfriend and explained to her that you could of bought $2,000 worth of those exact options and it would of be worth $300,000 if the stock opens at 21.  She said, “Well why didn’t you!!”  lol.

I said, “that’s gambling..  I don’t like to do that.”

Yeah, last night right after the earnings came out. Then the downgrade came out this morning.

I got out of QCOM by buying back my put spreads I sold, at an exact breakeven minus the .50 cost per contract charge (I guess that’s not a break even then).

I’m going to get back in on a close above 62, but I’ll wait this sideways stuff out.  I just don’t have enough confidence in this, although I still think it moves up to 65/66-ish over the next 3 weeks or so.

Choo-Choo on the mighty PCLN..  I sold Feb 590/580 BPSpreads for 740 close to the close.  I also grabbed 20% on the breakout in the morning although that could of/should of been a lot better had I been home with my set-up and not in a hotel in Ann Arbor 1/2-assing it.  I didn’t plan on trading this morning but when I seen that PCLN was leaving the station, I did my version of scalping.  By the time I got back home, what I sold for 175 were worth 275.  lol.  ooops.

Whatelse..  I have ALXN March 90 calls I bought.  Just a couple.  This should move up nice over the next few days.  I’m surprised there wasn’t as much action as I’d expect looking at the chart.  2 of my main indicators I use say ‘buy’ as well as a main ‘mental’ one, which is nothing more than an all-time high, w/ volume, on a growth stock.

I also risked one to make 5 with Apple today.  This is just a flat out gamble.  I sold 515/510 put spreads for 390.  Feb’s.  I figured I’ll risk the 1.10 so I can make sure that I don’t miss a nice little ‘bubble-up’ over 500.

The number 511 or 514 was what my ‘from the gut’ bubble up target was.  I forget which one.  But who the hell knows..  with the ipad3 coming out i suppose it can very easily push up some more before consolidating.  I think that the Ipad3 release, should we NOT consolidate before then, will be a PERECT ‘sell on the news’ event.  I’ll have a bucket full of put spreads should we continue to move north with no real consolidation to speak of.

there is a good chance that KORS becomes a crazy multiple growth stock of 2012.  It already has a massive multiple, but this maybe one that continues to blow up..  think GMCR, LULU, etc.

I was in it.. then got out before the earnings.  Obviously I was very wrong.  I’ll get back in when it retests one of the indicators I watch.

Any of you have any thoughts on TSLA?  I see a few parallels between that company and Apple—trying something different in a crowded low-margin industry, strong attention to detail, and a leader who is heavily involved in product development & design.

Earnings call is tomorrow but I’ve only just started learning more about the company and I have no idea what to expect.

I was waiting for this IPO to come out, but then I learned that they don’t really make money.  Maybe that has changed now, but I remember their sales/net income being an issue as to why this stock wont go ‘crazy’.  I left it alone after I realized it wasn’t going to move like I thought it would.

Check into those metrics if your going to invest in it.  Trading it.. I don’t know.  I haven’t been watching it.

I’m staying away from it.  Tesla has delayed this so many times….there’s the cutting edge and the bleeding edge.

Fisker has inventory out in showrooms but can’t be delivered until glitches are worked through.  Tesla is going to have its share as well.  Not interested.

I got caught slippin over the weekend in Ann Arbor..  my only play I had on my map for Monday was Special K (K).  I neglected to buy it Monday or Tuesday as I wanted to study the chart a little better and also understand why it is back at that $50-level.  The $50 level is a massive support level over the last couple years.  I was going to buy some out of the money C-spreads and hopefully let the stock drift back north into my ‘net’.

that net would of doubled on the Pringles aquisition news.  I bought on the open today.  March 50/55 BCspreads, which I got for 230 and are already 310-ish.  And I bought a bunch of June 55/57.5 spreads for .40, which are already up to .55.  The 200day MA 52.992 on my charts.  The more risk adverse can maybe purchase on a few closes above that or whatever.  I just bet that it will break above and hold, and if it holds more people will come in and join the Special K party.

Its funny how I got into this trade..  we were in the hotel room and all the food that we had lying around, the cereal, chips, cookies, etc. were ALL Kellog’s.  And I didn’t remember ever hearing about them as a stock, at least not that I could clearly remember.  So..  I looked them up and they were right at a long term support level.  It looked worthy of a high R/R ‘fishing net’(tm) trade.  The June 55/57.5’s are my “here kitty, kitty..  come on into this little box and play”-trade.

I also got KORS Aug 50/60 BCspreads.  It is my prediction that this will be a major growth stock for 2012.  Like LULU, CMG, GMCR, NFLX, etc.

The plan is to spank it on the way up..  and then spank it on the way down.

Sure.

I’m attempting to short AMZN through bear put spreads (Apr 12) today.
