Any reason why GOOG is up 6% since monday?

They announced a more accurate method for searches. Plus it’s Spring.

They also announced they were going to release the next Nexus Android software to multiple vendors at the same time, effectively reducing some of the fragmentation.

I really wish I had millions so that I could take a stake in Twitter right now. Ultimately I think the platform will prove to be more profitable than Facebook.

At $30 FB P/E still is 67… with such P/E AAPL would be $2700
but growth prospect is much more substantial for AAPL than for FB.

FB would be fairly valued @$5 and AAPL @$1000

Keeping an eye on AMZN and LNKD for obvious reasons. wink

In the case of AMZN, well I’m like a moth drawn to the flame…or…Fire? raspberry

I am waiting for Nicira to go public. That is one tech stock I will be buying (depending on valuation, of course).

    Let’s try this again.

SPY - Down day today, but the atmosphere feels…trendless again.

    GMCR - WTF rally lately.

NFLX - wild trading today.  (Same with YELP.)

ARMH - nearing but not at 52-week low.

LQMT - as hyper-speculative as it gets.  Maybe if it dips under 20 cents.

I’ve checked in on ‘em now and then today, but no plans long or short at the moment.

Anyone else have other stocks or ETFs they’re looking at, shares, options?

So it’s probably going to be awhile before I have 60k to purchase a 100 share block of AAPL. Been thinking about my next favorite product to the ipad.

Any thoughts on Monster Beverage Co. (MNST) ?

I’ve been thinking about purchasing 100 shares and selling monthly calls 2 strikes out from current prices.

Looks like you won’t be able to do so anymore as VMware bought it up.

    KCG. Hmm.

    Bad trade, no dinner!

Good luck on that (honestly).  If it were me I’d be trying to find a good or least painful exit strategy: looking to get out and back in on something that doesn’t have variables unknown at this time.

I now own five times as much as yesterday’s opening trade.

    The knife is sharp.

To Knight’s CEO’s credit, he came in after a knee operation and pulled the levers to back out of everything no matter the cost and get out from under the cloud of lawsuit purgatory. I picture a scene straight out of the movie Margin Call. Back out $470m from the $850M 2012’s estimated annual earnings and investors are left with a company making 1/2 of what they had hoped in earnings and a reputation risk. Will retail brokers continue to do business with Knight?

I think so given that Knight manned up immediately and made everybody whole but, as we all know, The Street is a weird place with weird happenings.

Anyway, cost averaging got me into 5X to get to something with a reasonable shot at glory.

Black Swan Counter: 9 (Banks need money, Jobs needs a break, Geithner has no plan, Cuomo’s grandstanding, .Gov needs a hobby, GS works for money, flash crash, is that bubbling crude?).

For those who look, a flash allows one to see farther.

KCG is $3.00 in the PM.  Taking on more water.  Where’s that damn flotation device?

KCG who wha whoa.  This demands a read-up.

Mercel, Bloomberg’s futures are always delayed.  CNBC TV is real-time.  Not pretty but it’s a “convenient” quick break for AAPL to set up better technically.

When Algos Attack (Their Creators):  Ouch, KCG.

Their rogue algo somehow cost them a huge chunk of capital?  I guess market makers need to be more careful.

CNBC TV mobile or CNBC TV on TV?  LOL  I’m trying to not watch CNBC TV.  It’s a kind of animated Seeking Alpha

I bought 1,000 shs of KCG for $2.98 in the PM.  I don’t do much of this, but it just feels good to have a lower cost basis than Eric.  LOL
