Shareport with D-Link 635 (rev b1, firmware 2.30WW, 2008/12/15)
-
I just can’t get it to work. I have a Brother MFC-7340 plugged, generally, into my USB hub and that’s fine. But I tried to get it plugged through the D-Link router (pronounced rowter, not rooter, by me).
I’ve downloaded the Shareport app from D-Link, proved that it’s the latest release, set it up through the firewall to allow in and out-going traffic. But still I can’t see the printer from my iMac, which is connected via ethernet to the router.
Has anyone had any joy doing this? I’m not averse to using different non-D-Link firmware if that would help?

I have never used this router in particular, but if you visit its status page, does it have any sort of status page that shows whether it sees that a printer is present?

Yes, and the status light on the front is showing that it’s connected. The problem seems to me to be more with the Sharelink package.
