Revenue from devices connected to iPod, iPhone or iPad
-
There is a strong trend for all sort of electronic equipment to use iOs Apple device as their data analysis, data storage and user display.
Usually those appliances come with a free app and no app store revenue for Apple.for instance http://www.oscium.com/ , http://www.alivecor.com/index.htm
I do not know if and how Apple collects some revenue but in the future that could be huge.
And info or idea?

All “authorized” products that use any iOS as a display or processor MUST pay Apple a royalty or they will be terminated and/or sued….see recent litigation ruling.
You can be sure all the big boys…i.e. Bose, Sony etc pay up. They have been a very nice revenue stream from the beginning. This is one reason Apple “LOVES” their proprietary 30 pin connector and are motivated to include it in as many products as possible.
