Google VS Apple
-
Here’s a guy who tried (and wanted to like) the Android platform. After just 2 months, he concluded that Google should just scrap it altogether.

I wonder what Apple is going to to about the new Googorolla non-Frand ITC patent-infringement filings?
In retrospect, it may have been a serious blunder for Apple to allow Google to purchase Moto and not counterbid to keep the tens of thousands of patents off Google’s hands.
Now, it only takes one non-Frand valid patent to stop the entire iPhone business or force Apple to cross license.
Apple should have seen this coming. Those would have been some billions well spent.

Over-reaction. Yet another claim is meaningless at this point. If Apple had been dumb enough to buy Moto, I would have sold all my shares. Let this play out for a while before panicking.

Seems Mueller has a pretty even-handed assessment of what’s going on with this latest patent battle:

Mueller is same guy who confidently assessed that Motorola’s patents aren’t strong enough and FRAND encumbered. Note he doesn’t sing this tune anymore in his posts. Common sense would tell you that given ten’s of thousands of related patents that Moto had, no one but the owner who is in the position to go though the patents one-by-one could know for sure if there is one non-Frand strong patent that has been violated (certainly not Mueller despite his “aura” of authority). But one such patent is all it takes to essentially check-mate.
