Hi All,
I have two questions really which are related.
Firstly on a LAN, I realize that it’s possible to wake my mac pro from sleep on but how exactly do you do it when you want to file share via the Finder?
For example, when using my laptop (wifi) I need to access some files on my sleeping mac pro (connected to my router via ethernet). Normally I find my mac in the sidebar of the finder on the left but if it’s asleep it doesn’t appear. So that’s my first question.
Secondly, I would like to be able to wake my main mac machine from sleep when logging in via the “Connect to Server” feature.
I have tried this and this also does not seem to wake my mac. I have the ‘wake for ethernet access’ box checked and I’m pretty sure waking from sleep works for other features such as iTunes sharing.
My mac pro has 10.6 and is connected to my wifi router via ethernet. My laptop is connected via wifi.
Any tips very much appreciated.
Thx
Felix
