Well then do some searching. It’s on many AAPL chats already. Another one said it was on Macgasm.net as well.

Here’s another bit of good news…..
AIRCEL TO LAUNCH APPLE’S iPHONE IN INDIA MAY 27!

NEW DELHI -(Dow Jones)- Aircel Ltd. said Wednesday it will start selling Apple Inc.‘s (AAPL) iPhone 4 smartphones in India May 27, as mobile telecommunication companies start rolling out third-generation services.

It will offer the new model of iPhone, which is popular for its high-speed Internet and mobile software capabilities, under both post-paid and pre-paid subscription plans.

Aircel will charge INR34,500 for iPhones with 16 gigabyte capacity and INR40, 900 for those with 32 gigabyte capacity. Users will be able to recover the cost in monthly credits in their subscription accounts over 24 months, it said in a statement.

Aircel has more than 50 million subscribers for its second-generation services. It started providing 3G services in February.

Malaysia’s Maxis Communications Bhd holds a 74% stake in Aircel, while India’s Apollo Hospitals group owns the rest.

Apple’s iPhone 4 was first released in the U.S. and four other countries in June last year, with a starting price of $199.

    Nice catch!

    Better late than never!

I hadn’t noticed that Bharti Airtel (160+ million subscribers, very nice!) already carried the other iPhones and announced an iPhone 4 launch as of April (with no timetable).

This will bump up iPhone numbers for fiscal Q3, for sure.

Sounds iffy. WWDC is scheduled well in advance and is a major event that most tech journalists have probably already planned to attend. Why would Apple PR need to contact “select journalists” who are already going to be there?

haven’t heard of that site either, and dont see anything on twitter…

As much as I would like to believe it, it doesn’t seem legit.

Keynote invites have or will soon be given out.  To my knowledge these invites aren’t like the ones Apple gives out the rest of the year (y’know, the ones that hint at the upcoming product).

There are some tech journalists/bloggers who buy a ticket and cover the whole conference. Maybe folks like Mossberg and Pogue wait for (or expect) a keynote invite. In any case, a bunch of these people have already planned to be there. Apple does not need to gin up interest for this event.

The Aircel announcement is new. It was rumored last month that both Aircel & Bharti Airtel would launch the iPhone. Aircel is the smaller of the two carriers.

Oh, Aircel.  About 51-ish million subscribers.  My mistake.

    Still, an important step.
