  The main topic of the talk to a small group of entrepreneurs was on the nature of innovation in Silicon Valley.

  One theme was rock star mentality vs operational excellence. 

  Apple popped up in the talk a few times.  The firing of Steve Jobs.  Apple product intuitiveness. 

  NFC and Apple were not mentioned in the same breath.  So, no news there.
