AAPL Fiscal Q3 2011 Earnings Interim Thread
-
DT’s getting all the numbers together, but there’s still plenty of reasons to discuss Apple’s anticipated fiscal Q3 results (and related stuff) between now and whenever an official AFB discussion thread pops up.
Any AFB members who aren’t yet in the AFB estimates index want to put up some home game numbers? Anyone want to keep the earnings discussion going? Anyone want to celebrate hollow earnings accuracy victories by default against friendly AFB competition who for some reason don’t have numbers in yet?
(Nah, I’m sure you guys worked it out with DT beforehand and have your estimates coming along soon.)Let’s get started!

missed the deadline, sorry.

Probably too conservative but really hard to guess production these days.
Edit: Ok, I’m an idiot. Just realized that I had a bad number in my Mac ASP.
Thanks for catching that Mav! :dunce:I do expect that number to keep dropping since the ratio of laptops/desktops is at .75 now.

Chas, you have Mac ASP falling off a cliff! Your thoughts on why the huge sequential delta?

I think that $6.62 is a little conservative, but it still smashes the analysts and I wouldn’t mind if they reported those numbers next month. Did you see Katy Huberty numbers for 1Q212? She had the following:
Revenue $30B
iPhone 19,853
iPad 10,000
iPod 14,500
Mac 4,792
GM 38.6%
EPS $6.53Everything looked pretty good except the GM and EPS of only $6.53? Apple is going to beat those numbers this quarter with 6M less iPods, 500k less macs, and 2M less iPhones and iPads!
-
Pretty good?
You do remember Apple’s fiscal Q1 2011 results, right?
12% YOY rev growth. 22% YOY iPhone unit growth. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Point us to a link, please. I’m having a hard time believing these are anyone’s holiday quarter numbers.

Here’s your link.
By pretty good, I mean anytime you get an analyst to suggest 20M iPhones sold in a quarter, you know it is going to be a blowout! This points to at least 25M iPhones sold!

Like those numbers Chas. I’m about 1% or so higher than you in the revs/net inc departments.
Y’know, we think very similarly when it comes to this AAPL estimates and price target stuff. Still not sure what to think about that.

As I’m a little new to the game of trying to estimate iPhone numbers and revenue and such, I think I’ll wait to see what is released in September before I start throwing around numbers. I do believe that we will sell well over 20M iPhones, however if Apple does release a phone for the prepaid market, I wouldn’t doubt numbers North of 25M. We shall soon see.

Well, I think that we think alike and trade alike (trade scaredTM) as far as AAPL goes. Hopefully some day we’ll meet up in Vegas/Aruba/wherever.
