I will not be in Vegas next week for my B-day. This will be the first time in 8 years, I figured I would not be able to get my ankle bracelet through the scanner. (inside joke) tongue laugh

Great, next thing you know you’ll want a cut!  So how much is the vig, Mark? :-D

Is anyone else super pumped up that Turley Muller just increased his EPS estimate in PED’s smackdown to $7.00????

It’s very doable.  19.5M+ iPhones and 8.5M+ iPads will take us there.

If I plug those numbers into my model I get $7.27. This is really encouraging. I am modeling 17M phones. I really, really hope I’m wrong.

    Me too LOL

I have a feeling you are all drinking too much tonight and celebrating too early.  Lets settle for 6.50 and be thankful apple managed to sell 17 million iPhones and 8 million iPads.

You’re running high on GM for iPhones and/or iPads I think:  I get $7.00 on the button.

    I’m for conservative too Sponge.

And good call earlier today with your prediction that AAPL would rise after the DOW recovered from a poor open.  I felt the same and held my positions. I was not disappointed.

I don’t see any way the number is $6.50. There is huge room for gross margin to be higher than we all think. I am at 40.7%. Deagol is over 41% and now Turley Muller is at 40.9%. I am willing to bet the actual EPS number is closer to Turley’s estimate of $7.00 than $6.50.

We will find out in 14.5 hours who is right.

I think there is a disconnect that makes it challenging for Apple to have such big numbers.

First of all consumer spending and overall confidence is much lower in the last three months world wide.

Secondly I think iPhone sales should have slowed down given some expectations of a new one this summer.  Especially from Verizon folks

And thirdly I thing Apple had serious production issues with the iPad in March that took longer to resolve.  I am with Gregg on them missing internal number projections.  This item is hotter then hot and they can’t make enough to meet demand.

$6.50 is nothing to cry about.  It is a great number and if guidance look good it may take the stock much higher in the AH tomorrow

Tempted to buy a few shares tomorrow.

I think you both need to drink more:)

I just saw Turley’s units for iPhone and iPad on Apple 2.0—interesting.  I don’t get much more than $6.70 at those sales units (and I arrive at his GM).  The differences must be in OPEX/Other Income/FIT.

The numbers work out to about 27.5% of revenue flowing to the net income and eps lines. There would need to be special circumstances to produce a net income and eps yield that high. We’ll know tomorrow.

Time to lock this topic for the special earnings release day edition.
