And with iOS5 the iPad will no longer require a computer to dock to for set-up. Although a computer makes loading old photos easier.

Has anyone tried the camera connection kit?

I have the camera connection kit, but the issue becomes what problem your trying to solve.  Great for backing up photos on a trip or moving them from the camera for viewing by other.  Normally I build in aperture so I still need to move everything when I get home so if I synch the camera and IPad I need to watch for duplicates.  My biggest challenge seems to be getting the library sorted out from the different source devices which hopefully iCloud solves.

Greetings from Prague! I was enroute when we reached ATH Friday, flying at 39,000 feet, when I swear I saw a shiny, Apple-shaped saucer zip straight over the plane. Must have been the stock on its way up.

I’ll be cheering you on from some distance the next few weeks. Good luck to all.

The problem I was trying to solve was photo album storage for non computer owners, which would have to be somebody’s cloud, evidently not Apple’s.  Probably Picassa?
