JohnGAs we know, even a broken clock is right twice a day. Roubini’s been wrong more often than right. This perma bear didn’t earn his “Dr. Doom” reputation for nothing. Read the link below, and there’s PLENTY more where that came from. Take what he says with a pound of salt: His credibility with the financial markets is right there where John Dvorak is with tech.

Another article holding Roubini accountable:

Or - if you can wait for AAPL $500(+) within 2-3 years (subject to inherent market risk), just buy now and hold. Of course, I’m too impatient and stupid to do that (aside from the common position I have), but others don’t have the make the same mistakes as me!
+1

50% cash and holding only options sprinkled all over the Apple orchard. I’ve got some Granny Smiths, Jonathans, Golden Crisps, and Fujis. They’ll be fully ripe, I predict, in 2-3 months.
I’m a buyer of AAPL common at $360 - $365. European debt talks will probably give me that chance next week.
Mav, Do you see appl going below 360 if market goes for a tail spin next week?
Clearly, M(a)rcel (still getting used to that…hey Cl4, looks like you can change your Treehouse acct name if you wanted...patsy’s query was intended for you.
But I might as well give my own rusty 2 cents on the matter
. AAPL touched the 350s last week. Surely another stock market volatility session like that one could produce another significant dip. It’s all about what to do should that volatility happens. Thanks Guys for your insights. I was watching Nouriel’s Wallstreet Journal interview and he was mentioning that stock market will either re-accelerate and pierce thru with escape velocity or it might go and do a 20% correction. Next two weeks is the telling time.

Surely Nouriel is a very smart guy but when someone says the stock market might go up really fast or might go down really fast I don’t bother paying attention so I won’t watch his interview. Thanks for the warning. I, too, think the market might go up or might go down. Glad he and I have so much in common.

If a flash mob can terrorize a shopping district, can a flash traders group bend a stock price to their target ? Yes I know they are both illegal but the traders would be running off with more than a camera or TV.

This is only mildly off topic, but it is fascinating to look back at 1993 and see the forecasts for future technology, brought to you by AT&T via Tom Selleck

Traders colluding? Hmmm…not sure. But big money bending stock price to their target? Happens almost every Friday.

Someone posted in Intraday this week (Bryan?) about strangely being so much more calm during this market crash versus AAPL’s ride to 310. I couldn’t agree more. I hated every second of that trip to 310 because I was ill-prepared to take advantage to the extent I would have liked. But I have to say: I learned SO MUCH! All that woulda, coulda, shoulda nonsense…well, I took my lessons learned and applied them. We all know how well pain instructs. I’m coming right along in the training program…

At the Denver airport, iPads galore. Wannabes, not so much.
All of us who travel a bit see the phenomenon of 98% iPad vs. 2% “all others”. Nobody on the plane has a Dell Streak or (ugh) a Playbook. flyer’s have disposable income, influence enterprise decisions and compare notes.
I think the Airport Index is a hugely valid indicator of broader market penetration.

2 things:
1. Love, will you post a picture of your day trading workstation? No need to include your TA in the picture.
2. Does anyone here use an MBP A’s their primary work computer and dock it to a big screen on their desk? I will soon be working from home and am not srue if I should get an iMac or just a big cinema display for my MBP.
You will have to wait for the 27” Thunderbolt Cinema Display - it’s not currently available.

Yes, I have 15” MBP (8GBS Ram and 7200 500GB HD) connected to a 24’ Apple Cinema Display works really well and only takes a second or two to reconnect the MBP to the display after being out and about. Here is a picture during set-up:
