I’m using a new MBPro running Snow Leopard, and it only has QT X on it. (No QT 7 in the Utilities folder.) I’m trying to combine video files. Apple’s website says it’s a simple as drag-and-drop, but I can’t get it to work. Any ideas?

No iMovie? Any of the iMove versions would make stitching videos together quite easy. Do that as you edit.

I have Quicktime 7 (apparently) on my Leopard running old Mac Mini and couldn’t find any way of combining videos. I don’t think it has that capability, unless, I have missed something. Sorry.

I always used VisualHub {no longer supported by developer (or so he says)} to convert videos from AVI to DV. Then I would import the clips into iMove and work on them there. VisualHub did allow for videos to be stitched together during the conversion process, but I really found it better to wait and do the combining in iMovie.

Oh.. I think I have all four versions of iMovie on my newest Mac Mini. Oops! I guess this migrating thing, all these years, does have it’s downside. ; )

Anyhow.. I always found iMovie great to use.

Wait, Quicktime 10.1 seems to have some editing capabilities. “Add Clip To End” command, in the Edit menu won’t do this for you? No? Yes? Sorry if I have misunderstood your problem.

iMovie did the trick. I confess I haven’t liked iMovie since the major interface change, which is why I didn’t try it first. But after actually watching a few tutorial videos, I “get it” now. In any case, thanks again. The project is done and set for the trade show.
