Remote music library for iPad

  My wife has a 3 year old MacBook with a 160Gb HD. When the computer ran out of space I moved her iTunes library to our NAS volume. She is now able to access her music and video from anywhere in the house over WiFi (older Airport) and has plenty of space on the drive again.

  We have a 32Gb iPad2 that we got this summer. Is there any way I can have it access the same iTunes library over WiFi?

  It can’t directly access the library (as in the files) but if you enable Home Sharing and leave iTunes running on one of your Macs, your iPad can connect to that.

  I got an offline message with the same suggestion. It would work but I don’t have an old Mac setting around that I could use. For that matter I don’t really want another piece of equipment running 24/7 around here. Thanks for the suggestion though.
