It’s over 90% over the past five quarters, IIRC.

My view is AAPL would hit $480, corrects (news or no news related to Apple business) together with the broad market which is also expected to decline into 2012 until QE3 is announced.

480 used to be my August-October target.  I can live with, and plan for, 480 coming along sooner than I think (and the uncertainty period which may follow).

Well, I’ve sure gone off topic.  I’ll call for AAPL 500 by April 25, 2012.

I’m sticking with $500 per share by February 13th of this year.

I sure hope this is a joke.

If not, lay off the booze wink

It would be possible, but a lot of highly unlikely things would have to happen first.  I’m thinking around April.

I have a stupid question.  If Apple were to start buying back their shares and the shares appreciate, what prevents them from selling their shares for a profit?

I’d thought about that every so often.  Buy ‘em back, then re-issue.

But then you get into strange re-dilution issues.

That’s what we want another market manipulator to take into consideration. Let them keep generating cash the old fashioned way.

I have a new theory. Apple hits 500 when Mav hits 10k postings.  Which should be in a month or so?

Apple as a company can’t trade shares.  That is, those shares bought can’t be issued in the open market.  To issue in the open market, need board approval.

Nothing hits the P&L if that’s what you’re asking.

I’m guessing we’ll hit 500 sometime before 4FQ12 earnings, and then oscillate around that area for the next few months, leading into a 550 runup before 1FQ13 earnings come out.
