Long Term Dividend Growth

Can you help explain thi?

The dividend is tied to one share, not the price of the stock. If the stock gets split, so does the dividend.
Yahoo backdates the numbers to reflect the effect of the split on the dividends. Here is a GE press release for 1994.

The quarterly dividend listed is .41 cents per share. If you check your chart (page two) the listed dividend for the following four quarters is .06833 per share. This reflects the stock splits 2:1 and 3:1 stock splits that occurred later - .41 / 6 = .06833. The 6 reflects that one share split 2:1 and then 3:1 yields 6 shares.Hope this helps
