    Congrats.

FWIW, I have tended to get better deals ordering vehicles than buying whatever they have on the lot.

Thanks Eric. I had read that dealers do give better discounts on orders as they haven’t had to start paying the financing/holding costs of the vehical. So, to them, it comes in and goes out. It’s straight profit without having to finance it from the manufacturer.

Excited about getting the car. Initially, I was debating between a manual transmission and the automatic transmission. After going on the test drive with the automatic, I realized it wasn’t as much fun to drive as the manual transmision was.

Congrats!  I was all set on the new 2012 BMW M3, but decided to hold off for various reasons.  I’m now getting a 2001 M3 inspected at the shop, should make an offer within the next week or so.  After taking my current ‘01 540i to the track, I can’t wait to try out the M3 there.  The fact it’s an ‘01 makes it much easier to not care about track (ab)use.

Went back to stick with the Crossfire. Love it. Plus I add 10mpg with a stick. Drive safe.

You’d better not have a Ferrari when the “financial police” come to get you to enforce socialism:

In honor of SJ, we should all consider a Mercedes SL. One year leases should do the trick so those of you in Cali can forgo the a license plate just like SJ.

Already got it checked off my to-do list.

Now I’m thinking about a different car.

That looks enough like the ‘62 Jaguar XKE to warrant a esign patent suit.  :  )

In November 2007 I purchased a 2005 Ford GT and took possession in March 2008.  That purchase started my on a car buying binge that ended with me owning about 15 pre-war II classic cars.  I have narrowed my collection and preference to Buicks, Cadillacs, and Packards, with a side jaunt to a 1923 Cleveland.

All of them were purchased with the proceeds from trading AAPL options, as was my house (National Historic Register), the restoration thereof, and all of its furnishings.

Even with the speed bumps I’ve managed to hit, AAPL has been very kind to me.

On a side note:  I’ve been wanting to get a custom plate for the Ford GT.  I want to give Apple credit for me being able to buy it.

Seven letters maximum.  My first choice is THXAAPL, but I’m concerned the message is too obtuse.  I’m very open to ideas.

My wife is interested in a new car and has looked at Lexus ES 350. Anyone have any experience with this car, would a Lexus or BMW be a better choice? What about leasing over buying.
    Thanks,
    Bob
