No, not really. It came up a lot last year with all the remembrances of Steve. It’s a really nice visualization of the potential of computing. One of Steve’s specialties.
I didn’t know this was Edmunds Town Hall Car Talk galleybob
, but first things first.Comfort or sport? BMW is blurring the line but there’s still some distinction between the brands depending on what you want and how much you’re willing to spend.
Actually, what’s your price range.

Here I am just trying to help him out with a few Apple-themed suggestions THAT PEOPLE OUTSIDE THE AFB WOULD ACTUALLY GET.

My wife is interested in a new car and has looked at Lexus ES 350. Anyone have any experience with this car, would a Lexus or BMW be a better choice? What about leasing over buying.
Thanks,
BobMy only experience with Lexus started about 3 weeks ago. My daughter bought a 2001 Lexus QX4 with 161,000 miles on it. The car looked great, but I was concerned about the mileage. Anyway we put a tow kit on it and towed a 6’ X 10’ U-Haul from North Idaho to Lawrence KS. There were a couple times (going over Lookout Pass MT/ID State line and the Continental Divide) that it dropped down to 2nd gear and RPM went up to 4K, but the QX4 drove like a brand new vehicle. Mpst of the time we clipped along at 65 MPH with zero problems. I am incredibly impressed with this vehicle. Extremely well built. You would never know its 11 years old if you didn’t know Lexus styling changes.

since replaced by two generations of QX56 full-size SUVs. The Lexus equivalents are the GX and LX SUVs.
galleybob, assuming you’re looking at an ES 350-priced vehicle (entry-level luxury), you have many options. If it’s more comfort and easy cruising, there’s the newest ES 350, the Hyundai Genesis, the Mercedes C-series. If it’s more sporty, you have the Audi A4, Infiniti G, BMW 3-series, maybe an Acura TSX/TL. If you don’t require a luxury marque kinda sedan there’s even more choices.

.Well, I did say that was my only experience with it. It is indeed an Infiniti. : )

Thanks for the responses. My wife is looking for entry level luxury. She has been driving a Honda Odyssey and is looking for something more comfortable. She test drove the Lexus and really liked it. I told her to check out the Acura. Any thoughts on leasing vs owning?

Small SUV?
Minivan to lux sedan are different driving experiences… Of course, smaller upscale SUVs cost more.

She wants a sedan. She liked the Lexus ES 350 so she will probably buy it, or lease it.

I’d recommend other rides but I’m biased towards “fun to drive” (related: sharper handling/reflexes).
If you’re going for the newly redesigned ES 350, you should be good. Seems like a quality sedan in its class - as long as you don’t mind it being more of a cushy/floaty ride. OK on power (Toyota/Lexus 3.5L is tried and true, if a little old in its competitive set), faster than the minivan, obviously, decent fuel economy in its class (combo of engine/older auto transmission), interior should be plenty nice enough.

Thanks Mav, I think she will buy the Lexus but I want her to at least check out the Acura. A cushy ride is probably what she is looking for.
I have my eye on a all wheel drive Honda CRV. -

Ok here goes.
Mustang convertible. Wife has wanted one since she had a drivers license at 14 yo (that’s right that’s how it was in Idaho) in 1966. Didn’t think we’d get to it by her 60th birthday while putting 2 kids thru college. Then came the magic fruit company-

I was just at a mini-car show in my town. A nice summer night. Cutlasses, 57 Chevy’s, a Corvette, a 1949 Dodge, a 1939 Ford and one ancient thing which I dont know yet.
One of these days, I’ll get something respectable.
I’m not a big fan of most modern cars, but the new Mustangs are pretty good looking.
