Well, we can’t have too many stickies.  Let’s just see how this one goes.

I see nothing wrong with discussing intraday options trading (or day-to-day, close enough right?) on the regular thread though.

True, but the great educational posts get buried and forgotten.  Maybe the best setup is to have an “Options Education” sticky and keep it to truly educational or teaching content. loveymyipady could keep it clean I’m sure, she is good! grin
The day to day could be “Intraday - options”

    Just a thought.

    Let’s kick this off!

I put in a more-than-side-bet-sized order for Apr 5 AAPL $600 weeklies at around half of Friday’s price.  If they fill tomorrow (AAPL would have to dip a few bucks at least for me to even have a chance) I’ll then have the option of legging into a BCS.

I gotta say, there’s a lot less fear when you buy unhedged options once you get an understanding of legging in to, at worst, reduce the amount of risked/lost capital.  It took me a while, but I’m getting there, and I’m liking what I’m seeing!

Added to a substantial existing options placement.

Newest tranche for 5 April21 $610’s. Paid $13.25 on Friday.

I’m really in the money on the older sets, but they are three weeks old now, so not applicable for this thread.

Let’s see what happens, sell ‘em on Tuesday around 2 PM.

Got some April 5 615 weeklies on Friday… Looking to sell them at $6 today…

    Edit: Sold.

I promise, iPad, that I won’t get addicted to weeklies like crack cocaine…  But this was exhilarating without much drama.

I did a 580/585 put credit spread at open for 70 cents credit and the value dropped quick with the rise which was great, but it has really dropped over the last hour of hovering where we are and is now about 20 cents.  I just bought it back for the quick flip.  Can’t complain about that.  I was expecting to hold for the week as part of a bottom of a condor, but oh well smile

Attempting to ride the wave on major AAPL strength.  Recommitted trades to May and Aug calls which I’ll sell, leg into or wait on depending on what develops.  Will determine the unreliable stop limit backstop safety valves later.

Well, never get TOO comfortable, but credit spreads are “heads I win, tails you lose” that way.  LOL I kinda like the “putting unrealized gains to work for you” (and just the gains) aspect.

Provisionally happy with how the day turned out, lost “a few bucks” along the way while staying out of trading from around AAPL 610-ish to watch the trend then hopping back on at AAPL 615-ish.  OTOH, I did buy the dip a couple times last week, and not like I can never capture 100% of dips or appreciation anyway.

Time to set a stop limit or two before tomorrow.

Closed out of my AAPL Apr 12 (W) 590/610 bull put spreads for a nice chunk of change.

Initiated Apr 12 630/645 BCS and been working on trying to leg out and back in of the short leg to reduce cost basis.

    It’s a good morning :D
