iCloud email problems

Well, I took the plunge over the weekend and switched my MobileMe account over to iCloud. My iMac running Lion and my iPad with iOS5 switched over perfectly, like I expected. I knew from reading online that my 2nd Gen iPod Touch was going to be problematic, but after two hours of screwing around with it, it appears to be impossible. Has anyone successfully gotten their 2nd Gen iPod Touch to connect to their iCloud email? I’ve gotten Find my iPod, iCal, and Contacts to work on it, but all of the solutions I’ve tried for email just will not work. I constantly get the “the username or password is incorrect” error. Here’s some of the things I’ve tried:

Any help? I fear I just made my iPod Touch about 50% less useful. Thanks.

Well, I fixed it. After some more hunting around I came across a few reports of people needing to change their iCloud password. So I tried that and, sure enough, it worked. I used the instructions on the Apple KB article I linked to above and it worked in a snap. Seems like I’ve got everything synced again, except for my Safari bookmarks but that won’t be a big deal. So if anyone else is trying to get their iCloud mail on their 2nd gen iPod Touch after moving from MobileMe, change your password first and save the headache!
