Sir Jonathan Ive
-
I sure hope Ive won’t be going anywhere for a while.
He’s doesn’t need the money or the recognition.
He could easily feel the need to move on to the Next Big Thing?.
On the other hand, he’s got the best team, best access to resources, and he really seems to love his job, which is far from a stagnant one.
No Apple senior exec will stay forever and someday Ive’s movin’ on too. Succession of talent and Apple values is the key, and I’m hopeful Ive has thought in this way for the design arm of Apple much the same way Steve built for the future of the entire company.

The Summer of AAPL is here. Enjoy it (responsibly) while it lasts.

Thanks, Steve. -
Jony is predisposed to enthusiasm, as was Jobs, so today’s remarks probably contain a slice of hyperbole. Nonetheless, I’m very glad he said it and has enthusiasm for what he’s working on now.
Jony is just great. I think he should be driving a Porsche though—the Bentley is kind of frumpy.
First of all, Ive is a proud Brit and wouldn’t be caught dead in a German car make.
Sencondly he doesn’t drive a Bentley but an Aston Martin DB9 which is one of the best looking cars ever designed.Signature
Not an insider - not an outsider. Just right in the middle of it all.
