I don’t get (understand) this last minute price action. Same thing happened last Friday.

It is (momentum?) retail investors, like me, hoping for a pop for next week.

I bought today:  JAN 13 600s.  These will be very green in Sept/Oct.  The iPhone 5 is going to provide the seed, planted with the optimal amount of sun, moisture and soil.

Still waiting patiently for the next big AAPL upthrust

    Jan 2013 $550’s are slightly underwater, Jan 2014 $600’s are up 48%

I think we’ll be okay with those time frames and strike prices.

I also think Sponge should be buying smile

Greece is the word in two days.

Placed a bet on Aug 12 AAPL calls but still holding most of the dry powder stock I had as of Thursday.  I can’t bring myself to put too much at risk before a volatile event like that.  Not thinking the market would soar 5% on a “best case” scenario.

This week I kept sane by legging bull put spreads for JUL’12.  I’m usually out of JUL’12 positions by now, and I was…until recently.  But all this annoying range-roving—miles and miles of pacing the same tired ground—works well for legging in and out.

    And I must confess…I bought AUG’12 700 calls today.  Unhedged even! :D

You’re wild.  I understand it, patiently doing very little is very hard, but August $700 smile

How is it MY fault? raspberry I don’t have any long calls anywhere near $700!

(uh, except for that tiny Jan 14 890/900 BCS but that’s beside the point and 18 months away and not even comparable LOL)

But seriously.  $700?  Even if you were legging into a BCS, that’s an extremely ambitious strike price to start at.  Why?  What are the charts telling you?

Or have you simply taken a quick vacation from your senses? :innocent:

Excuse me for a moment while I take cover behind this.

No way you are holding those over the weekend. You probably held them for 45 seconds and sold or enhedged them with 750’s.

And how ‘bout them 570 puts and 575 calls? Didn’t give up the ghost…

Ha!  Go look at the price of AUG’12 700s today, and you’ll see why I was so “daring.”  LOL! :D

That’s a lot of contracts to have to buy.  LOL

I understand, a 10-20 point move may be all you need and you probably aren’t actually looking for anything close to 700 by expiration.

And to start our Father’s Day week-end off on the right foot, AmericanBulls has given AAPL a “Buy-Confirmed”.  To the moon, Alice (so get that Saturn V warmed up, Mercel).

Thought Mav-aroo would appreciate that one.

I see $700 in Sept., possibly $750 in Oct.
