From Intraday:
Will dip buyers appear today? And what constitutes a buyable dip?
I bought the dip, regardless of what the kinky technicals say.
I bought the (2nd) dip because of what the kinky technicals said (bullish divergence). :D

Kinky or not, I finished the quarterly swing trade buy today. In at 570, 592 and 602.
As far as I am concerned, Apple may now run like the wind through earnings…..

From Intraday:
This pattern is so damn predictable. Next week I will finally be able to play again.
Yep, until it’s not.

A whole board of Carnacs, yet not one reference to options expiration.
You switch to decaf?? Including yourself once before this post, I read at least three re: OE.

Thanks for that gift that could keep on giving, Mercel.

Anyway, I unhedged the Apr 13s. That’s a kind of buying the dip. AAPL was pretty resilient despite that bit of weakness at day’s end, so I made the call to turn up the risk dial a bit.
Absolutely loved what SPY leverage was like today. Wow!

AAPL: to boldly go where no stock has gone before

Well, for the first time in quite a while, I actually managed to profit from an AAPL short term side-bet, around 5% of my portfolio. I’m usually pretty bad at timing these short-term bets, so I’m happy this one turned out ok.
I basically doubled a bunch of JUL12 600/595 spreads that I sold when AAPL was around $540, and just cashed out on Thursday, when AAPL was around $610. Will use that to pay for some recent vacation expenses, plus a few toys, including a new Macbook Pro Retina and a Fender Jazz bass I’m really excited about. I even got about $10K left over to sell a few more JAN13s and JAN14s, which is all I hold now.
Feels pretty good to enjoy some hard-earned profits. I may have to do this more often

I bought back the Jul 625’s I sold on Thursday, so that means if we don’t make it to 625 on the run up, then I lose less than I would have!

Congrats. I take it these were BPS.

The pool at the Venetian is very nice.
I see nothing but iPhones and about 3 iPads so far.
Will be at the Paris pool in about 4 hours and will report from there.
Spending my future dividends this weekend.

It appears that AAPL’s PE compression continues to depress the stock’s value. This is the first quarter ever that AAPL has failed to close a trading day with a multiple of 15… But, I think most here feel we will remove that blight from this quarter by closing above 615.15 some day this week? I say Monday.
Edit to add ? The average PE for all trading days in the prior four quarters is lower than I expected: 15.39.
Avg. PE for all trading days this quarter: 13.97
The avg. 15.39 PE X TTM Earnings of 41.01 would give us a current stock price of $631.14. I think we will see that before earnings are released…

Got this link via Redler at T3. Fascinating reading about perspectives of some of Japan’s 20-somethings (and one 30-something).
