Impact on sales of Apple’s pull out of EPEAT green certification
-
Surprised this wasn’t posted:
San Francisco Officials Plan to Block Apple Procurement
San Francisco city officials say they are moving to block purchases of Apple desktops and laptops, by all municipal agencies, after the company removed a green electronics certification from its products.
If the SF lunatics are against it, Apple must be doing the right thing.

A quote from the article regarding Apple’s response to leaving EPEAT says it all:
“Apple has done more than any other technology company in recent memory to be environmentally friendly. What?s more, Apple publishes everything that makes up its carbon footprint on its Web site. Again, this is something EPEAT doesn?t measure.”
Outdated regulations regulating outdated technologies… unfortunately, par for the government course…

Apple returns to EPEAT

And an tweet from an eagle-eyed observer finds that the new Retina MacBook apparently does make the EPEAT Gold grade:

So happy about that. Now I can use my Retina Display MBP guilt-free.

Greenpeace has the heaviest concentration of loons in any one organization…

Greenpeace actually rated Dell (among other PC manufacturers) as being more “green” than Apple… an organization without a clue about such matters.

Oh wait! Apparently you need a hair dryer, a little patience and a putty knife to remove the battery pack from the Retina MBP: http://macdailynews.com/2012/07/14/upon-return-apples-retina-macbook-pro-on-epeat-gold-status-list/
Oh no! EPEAT didn’t account for a hair dryer! Scandal!
Dear Electronics TakeBack Coalition: Keep trying to get your name out there. Tempest in a hair dryer.

I actually think SF is left of Seattle. That’s saying something…

No effect now.
