Stickies to Notes in Mountain Lion?
-
Notes in Mountain Lion looks good but still no substitute for Evernote. However, I have a ton of Stickies and would like an easy way to import to Notes. Then Notes may trump Evernote.
Is there an Automator script for this? Cheers. Michael.Signature

Interesting that Stickies and Notes don’t have an automatic way of interfacing with each other. I did some digging on this, and there are a couple of options.
1) The obvious: manually copy/paste in. Not entirely fast, but it’ll work and in the end may be the fastest path
2) Import your stickies into Notational Velocity. They seem to have figured out how to parse that ~/Library/StickiesDatabase file properly. From there, of course, you’re on your own getting them into Notes, though you can sync NV with SimpleNote (and perhaps others).
3) ...write some code. There’s some talk on CocoaBuilder.com about how to go about this, though not much help.
4) .... anyone else?

Having just upgraded today, I found I had lost Stickies, but they are still accessible when I used the search facility to locate the application. However, I was surprised there was no easy transfer to Notes apart from cut and paste.

Thank you.
I will stay with Stickies for now and gradually transfer everything to Evernote. It’s an opportunity to organize my ramblings anyway
