I am not fatigued, but I have not been very active since April - a little active, but not much.  Simple strategy for a simple guy (me)

I gave up some earlier profits with my July options.  C’est la vie.  I’m looking for a good week w/AAPL.

Never again, again.  I can empathize.

I think AAPL can run in a mildly red market tomorrow.  This intense consolidation period won’t last much longer.

I am going to maintain my current cash position, about 25%, for now.  Another 20% is in the divvy portion of the portfolio (about 12% of that portion is in AAPL shares), and the remaining 55% is in calls/LEAPS.

I’m 100% cash until I get confirmation of direction.  Could be tomorrow, a week, month or year, but I’m exhausted from all the defensive plays I’ve implemented in the last 6 months.

Wow.  I have about a 3% cash position at the moment.  I tend to agree with Mav, just like 6 months ago, AAPL may well be preparing to run up while everybody is bearish.  The way I see it, there is precious little time between right now and any run-up prior to actual product announcements.  Tons of people, funds, etc, know the drill, and are getting ready for it.  They don’t want to be left behind, after last year’s insane second-half run.

I do tend to agree, however, that if we do see a runup to 700 or thereabouts, November and December will probably be weak.  I’m getting ready to close ~30% of my JAN13 position after October earnings, and watch the market for a couple of months.  October through January is very consistently flat-ish for AAPL, at least during the last 5 years.  This December might offer some very juicy opportunities for anybody who has at least some cash on hand.

That’s…actually not exactly what I said.  Though it’s not exactly inaccurate either. wink

I am a long-term bull on Apple (I know, breaking news huh), but the story basically has to hit people in the face before they’ll believe it.  Typically the re-education occurs once per quarter. raspberry

I said I was “excited” because of directional market opportunity.  I’m medium-term bullish on AAPL and shorter-term “whatever” (despite my Momo Madness bet) because AAPL’s valuation provides some very solid support as long as the markets don’t go straight to hell in a handbasket.

Pop. I have a good feeling about this week. Still remaining cautious though.

It sometimes seems like the sentiment on AFB can be a bit of a contrarian indicator. smile  “It’s always darkest just before the dawn” so to speak.
