whats with all the spam? why isnt it getting deleted?
Maybe there is something the admin can do to make it a bit tougher to sign up for an account or something.

That’s a decision for the owners.
This kind of spam is among the reasons I personally enroll all new members of the Braeburn Group.

I just deleted all of the spam in each of the forums. We’ll just take it incident by incident throughout the day. Please email if the spam appears again.

I just banned a couple IP ranges and removed a bunch of posts and user accounts from the offending domains. Hopefully that will at least slow them down today.

I’m not sure what more we can do. We already use:
1) CAPTCHA required for registration
2) Email verification
3) Blacklists
I’m not sure what else to do, but I’m open to suggestions.
The trouble is the spammers have gotten sophisticated and use pools of cheap human labor in places like China, India, and Eastern Block Europe to come in and create these accounts. Then the spambots take over and start blasting the stuff in. I guess we could require a captcha entry for each new post, but would we really want that?

I don’t understand why people would spam, are they just trying to inconvenience everyone or is there a profit motive?
