Advice on MacWorld travel

  Hi Guys,
  I’m planning to fly over from the U.K. to visit MacWorld. As it’s such a long way to come for a short time I’d like to extend my visit to around 7 to 10 days.  I’m looking for advice & suggestions on other places to visit outside SanFrancisco.
  I was in SF for a week last year & have done most of the tourist sites in SF, so I’m thinking of visiting other towns/places in northern California, or even moving on to somewhere like Seattle or maybe Las Vegas & flying home from there.
  Or would I be better to stay in SF & take day trips/overnight trips to towns within striking distance of SF ?
  I like traveling by train & so would intend to make trips on Amtrak/local train services.
  Any help would be greatly appreciated !
