iOS 6.1 is not good for my iPhone battery life

  After updating to the latest iOS, my iPhone 3GS has no battery life to speak of. I have rechecked sync settings, kept it on Edge network and kept the brightness down. I can put it to sleep and wake it up and the % drops from moment to moment. Any suggestions? One unscientific observation- the radio near my phone seems to get CONSTANT signal interference from the phone and not the intermittent buzz I have heard in the past.

  Ahem, after running the battery all the way down and a 3rd restart, the darn thing is back to normal. Serves me right for being a little impatient. Maybe Apple’s mantra of restarting the phone whenever a problem is encountered is decent advice!

  I wonder if there was some sort of backup or other large data xfer the phone decided it needed to do, and now has finished?
