Is there any simple way to recover/convert QuickDraw .pic files from the 90s to .jpg or some other current format?
I have scores of pictures I recently discovered on some old floppies. Thanks in advance,

And I assume you mean pict files? QT7 and GIMP will also open pict files. You should be able to use those to convert also.

Weell… All the files have a .PIC suffix, not .PICT. Get Info says they are QuickDraw pictures, but not much other information. Am I barking up the wrong tree by assuming they’re photos?

Not necessarily. .PIC, .PICT and .PCT are all essentially quickdraw PICT file extensions. You should be able to download Quicktime 7 at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL923 . See if that will let you at least view the files.
