Hi there, doing a bit of PI work on my son (trying to get him to stop hanging out with particular bad influences) he is still texting certain banned friends then deleting the messages! i can bring up a spotlight search of text messages, both current and deleted but with no dates attached to the limited text visible…. I am loathe to give another lecture! doenst seem to be sorted by date as ive played around with my own messages. SO my Q is:  (re iphone 4s with IOS 6+) how long do the deleted messages stay on the spotlight search for? and how are the messages sorted when a search is done ? and what is the formula for working out which messages are most current? wink

Interesting question and… I don’t know, either. The internals of spotlight are a format that I can’t suss out (I thought it would be SQLite, but it’s not). I’m not sure there’s an easy answer here, unfortunately.
