A guy that I know for a while told me that I can sell my G4 450 Single Processor tower for a quite high price because of its near new condition and the extra warranty that comes with it. He told me he can find a buyer for me….. If I want to get rid of it I can sell it for around $1700 CDN….with 256MB RAM, factory HD…... I said sure.

And then yesterday this guy told me he is selling his Dual 500 G4. He said he could sell it to me for a little less if I want it. Bare system…..no hard drive, no RAM, with DVD ROM and Zip drive…..$2300 CDN

Then today he came to my house and swap all RAM (1.5GB total), HDs (Two 46GB IBM drives), Radeon video card from my old 450 to that “new” DP 500. And took my SP 450 away. He said he should be able to give me the money back very soon.

So….after all the costs and such I only need to pay $600 CDN NO TAX (I got funding from my grandmother!!!!!) - that’s about $400 US - for a “new” machine (still has 6 months of warranty). MUCH BETTER than paying over $1500 CDN + 14% SALES TAX for that stupid Sonnet Dual G4 upgrade…..I will buy the extended Apple Care later this year. I know lots of reseller so I can buy the same warranty service for almost half the price.

I am now running this new baby and it runs like dream!

DP 500 G4 and a 1Ghz Athlon (I share it with my brother).....killer rendering combo!!!!!

Now what I need is a project that helps me to offset this extra expense…......
