last Gadget that covered AirPort technology was written way back in September 2000, and at that point, a $299 wireless access point wasn't a bad deal. Of course, since then, just about everyone is making WiFi hardware. After getting a PowerBook G4 12" with an AirPort Extreme card, we wanted to upgrade our (non-Extreme) AirPort base.
