A No Nonsense, Durable Case For An iPad
XtremeMac has produced a number of it’s Tuffwrap cases for iPhones and iPods and now they have introduced one for the iPad as well. It is available in black, the MSRP is $39.99, and it carries a one year limited warranty.

Tuffwrap for iPad - Installed
The distinctive design on the back of the case is shared by other XtremeMac Tuffwrap products and this design helps to ensure a secure grip. The packaging refers to the content as silicone, but it looks like, feels like, and acts likes a firm rubber. It is very pliable which makes it easy to put on and take off. It is also lightweight.

Using It
I tested this case on my WiFi iPad for several days. As promised, it was very easy to put on and take off and it feels very secure once in place. All the ports are easy to access and the speakers are exposed. It fit easily in a large handbag for carrying. I felt that I had a very firm grip on my iPad when carrying it around. I never felt like it might slip from my hands.
There is no protection for the face of the iPad which was a bit of a worry when I place it in a bag (or backpack). XtremeMac recommends another of their products to protect the face of an iPad using any slip-on style case. The product, Tuffshield Anti-Glare, is reviewed elsewhere in the TMO review section.
Do I Recommend It
I do. This case is not for everyone, but for those who want a no nonsense, durable, sturdy case for their iPad this case is a good investment. All the R & D went into creating a case with a secure fit, good grip, and good bump protection. Notice I said bump protection - if you drop your iPad you are still on your own. Hope someone with a pillow is standing close by.
