AGF’s Magnate iPhone Case Is Attractive and Rugged

| Quick Look Review

The new Magnate iPhone case from AGF has achieved what many other designs have tried to achieve. It is made from rubber so it is rugged and it has a unique, attractive design. It is also thin enough to easily fit into most pockets.

The case, which works with iPhone 4 and 4S is created with durable, flexible rubber-like materials such as TPU (Thermoplastic Polyutherane), with genuine leather inlayed in the back with contrasting stitching for highlighted design. The sides of the case are a rib design which provide added grip.

Magnate iPhone case for iPhone 4 and 4S

The inside of the case has a textured pattern which is designed to hold the phone in place. I’m not sure why that is necessary since the case fits snugly, but it is part of the highlights presented by the designers. The case is only available in black.

The MSRP for this case is US$35.00 and it is available from the company website.

Using The Product

This case is easy to use because it is easy to insert and remove the phone. It works with the iPhone 4S which is turning out to not necessarily be true for all iPhone 4 cases because of the placement of the volume buttons. I like the feel of the case. It has a good grip and is slimmer than most rubber type cases. It also fits nicely into my jeans pocket.

There is enough ridge over the phone face to protect the face when the phone is placed face down on a surface and there is also enough to prevent accidently punching the activate button.

Do I recommend it?

I do. I’m personally am very fond of no frills iPhone cases, although no one has offered me one covered in diamonds. I reserve the right to change my mind should that occur. Be that as it may, I really like the look of this case, but also think any male would like it as well because of the clean lines and understated decorations.

The case is very classy. Users remain responsible for the class of their ring tones.

Great feature for me because I dock my iPhone on my nightstand at night and use it as an alarm clock, and music player.

Sounds good, but, while it fits in one’s pocket, does it go in and out easily?  I’ve had other “rubber-like” cases that bind, creating some interesting gyrations as I try to extract the phone from my pocket before the caller hangs up after five rings.

How easily does the case slide in and out of one’s pocket?  I’ve had other rubber-like cases that have treated nearby observers to some interesting gyrations I’ve engaged in as I try to extract the stuck thing before my caller gives up after five or so rings.

Sorry for the double post.  TMO indicated, after my first attempt, that an error occurred and I needed to enter again; so I did.  Then up came both.

Oh yeah! if I am wearing slacks the iPhone is in my pocket and I can usually get it quickly. However, with denims I found that I am better off carrying the iPhone in a pouch worn in my belt.

I can only speak for myself of course, but I wear jeans all the time and I am short, which is not an asset, and I have no problem at all getting my phone in and out of my pocket.  Being short means your pockets are also short and smaller.

If I am sitting mine fit too snug to get the phone out quickly, I have to stand up. Now you need to understand that I wear bell bottomed shirts smile

I have a nice leather pouch with a zipper top that I got at a leather shop in Old Town San Diego. It is loose enough that an iPhone with a case fits and has a little pocket to hold coiled up earbuds.
