Hex’s Tribute Cloak Backpack Is Big, Secure & Good Looking

| Quick Look Review

Hex  often produces a line of bags and that is the case with the Tribute. The Cloak Backpack is one of several items designed to mix and match.

The outside is water resistant, "fine wale" navy blue corduroy. The bottom three inches of the backpack are covered with an imitation leather that adds to the design, but also provides a surface that can be wiped down if the bottom gets dirty. The inside includes a drawstring liner underneath a top flap which fastens with two buckles.

There is a front access, zippered, iPad pocket which is padded and lined with micro fleece. The interior laptop compartment will hold up to a 15-in. MacBook Pro.

The seams are bar-tacked for durability and the adjustable web shoulder straps are wide and durable. There is also a web hand carry strap attached to the back.

This backpack is big. It measures 20.5 x 12 x 5-in (52 x 30.5 x 12.7 cm). For an idea, examine the following photo of a 5 foot 6-inch individual wearing it. At the same time, it is very lightweight, approximately one pound, seven ounces. The Cloak includes a one year manufactures limited warranty.

Using the product

The Cloak is a well designed and well crafted product. Most users could easily carry a laptop, iPad, accessories, and two or three changes of clothing or other accessories. The front zipper pocket allows fairly easy access to tickets, passports, earphones, etc., although the user would have to remove the backpack to access them.

The drawstring inner lining is a nice touch for securing contents. The adjustable shoulder straps make it comfortable for most users and the smooth lining on the back of the bag, while providing comfort, also adds to the life of the bag. Corduroy will wear down after long term continued use. The back lining on this backpack will not.

Do I recommend it?

I do. It is a great bag. Just make sure you are tall enough to be comfortable in it. When I tried it on (I am 5 foot 3 inches tall) it rested below my waist.

Wonderful bags/cases/sleves, I have bought so many of their products. Ask for Heidi, and ask if you can pick a bag to review. [heidi at sfbags dot com] (Say hi from Eolake.)
Unpaid plug, I’m just a fan!

Eolake, I have reviewed several of their bags and agree that they are topnotch, but we like to cover all kinds and all price points.

Good, thanks.

I like their newest, the “Indie”, a compact, flat bag for a tablet and a couple bits and bobs.
