IPEVO’s Perch Desktop Stand for iPad works with all three versions of the iPad, providing a sturdy foundation for serious iPad work or play.

The leg is made from forged aluminum and the base is heavy-gauge steel. The iPad holder, which is made from heavy gauge plastic, is available in a size for the iPad 1 and a size for the iPad 2 and 3. Available colors are black or white. It’s easy to tilt and rotate the iPad with a special dual-axis hinge.
The Perch is 6.9 x 8.1 x 13.2-in (175 x 205 x 335 mm) and weighs 3 pounds (1.36 kg). The iPad must not have any case or shell in order to fit the Perch holder.

As a note: The Perch also comes in two other sizes, a medium and a large. These are taller stands that allow use when sitting or standing.
The iPad holders can be switched out meaning household members with various versions of the iPad can each use the Perch if they purchase an extra holder. It is one simple step to switch out the iPad holders.
Using the product
It took less than a minute to put the unit together. My iPad fits snugly in the holder and is easy to insert and remove. When rotated or slanted, it holds its place. The base is heavy enough that the unit does not rock or move when used in playing games or typing.

Do I recommend it?
I do. It is slick looking, takes up very little space, and is heavy enough to stay where I put it. However, the iPad must be free of any other case in order to fit.

I have been toying with the idea of getting one of the many stands (which remind me of iMac configs).
Have you reviewed any of the others on the market, and if so, how does this compare by any parameter (set up, price, aesthetics, etc)?
TMO staff have reviewed a number of stands, each with their own pros and cons. If you do a search on TMO for stands you will get a list of all the reviews that have been written. That should give you a good overview of what is available and help you make an educated decision.
